I decided to write a review for two reasons. First, this is the BEST THING EVER to serve a crowd. So much so, I am thinking of buying another one just to have a backup! Secondly, some of the answers to the frequently asked questions are incorrect, incomplete or just plain ignorant and I wanted to set the record straight.
Enter the "is this a slower cooker or just reheater" question. The item is called Bella Triple SLOW COOKER (my caps) - YES it is a slow cooker - it's like three 2.5qt crock pots - and YES you can cook three different things at three different temperatures. The knob settings are warm, low, medium and high for EACH crock.
I am so careful with this because it is precious to me, so I haven't broken anything and know nothing about replacing anything.
The lid holders are HEAVENLY and it also comes with three servers that you can leave right in the crocks when it's time to serve. There's a carved out notch for the handle in each crock.
Do not get the ones with smaller (1 or 1.5qt) and do NOT buy any of any brand without stable lid holders that allow steam to run right back into the crock.
